Prophetess Mariama Sesay
Passed away at Paulding WellStar Hospital on July 7,2020
Mariama was born November 3,1976 in Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa.
She was survived by husband Osman along with 5 children, James A. Sesay- 22, James T. Sesay- 16, Osman Sesay Jr -16, Thaimu Sesay -13 and Tity Sesay- 11. She was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Hamed and last-born daughter, Baby Mariama.
Mariama has 2 brothers -Hamed Polo & Mohamed Tecko, 1 sister- Baikisu. Grandmother- Grama Mariamasera, Father- Alhaji Saio Coker and stepmother. She has relatives in Maryland, Virginia, Australia, Texas and Sierra Leone in W. Africa. She had many adopted kids such as Alice Angel and many more. She has many sisters around the world because Mummy is a people’s person.
Mariama attained her education at Eastern Municipal Primary School, Independent Secondary School where she joined the Girls guide, where she later became a girl’s Scout and Bishop at Johnson Secondary school for her final years.
She was a member of a Drama group “KONTIKI TIATA” and a member of “CRD” and a human rights activist.
Mariama migrated to Gambia in March 1999 with her son James and opened a hair Salon that she operated with her wonderful husband Osman in Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A. in August 2001.
Prophetess Mariama and Osman remarried November 2002 in a vow renewal and continued to do so every 5years because of the love they shared and to bless their union. They thanked God for a wonderful family with a total of seven children, two who are in their eternal and the five who remain.
Mariama and Osman are self-employed and opened their business in Hiram GA. Mariama Hair Braiding opened in March 2008.
Mariama has known since birth that she was destined for greater things. She never settled for anything less than the best because she knew that she could do better and deserved better. Prophetess Mariama AKA: Mummy Osman never stopped working hard to reach her goals and she never let anything stand in her way. You were an Angel in Human flesh. I am blessed by God to be your husband and I will always love you!
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 1:00 PM at Highest Praise Church of God with Rev. Tony Stallings officiating. Mrs. Sesay will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service. Interment will follow the service at Sweetwater Memorial Park.
