Margery "Margie" Lee Fuller Massey's Obituary
Margery “Margie” Lee Fuller Massey, age 86, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. She was a member of Cheatham Hill Baptist Church, where she embraced her faith and found joy in community.
Her passion for sports, particularly basketball and football, was evident as she cheered for her beloved Auburn team. Margie found great happiness in gardening, nurturing her flowers with care and pride.
Margie enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield in Birmingham.
She graduated from Baker High School in 1957. In a beautiful twist of fate, she reunited with her high school friend, Jerry Massey, at their 50th reunion. Their rekindled friendship blossomed into love, leading to their marriage in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Lee.
Margie leaves behind her beloved husband of 18 years, Jerry Massey; her son, Phillip Davis of Wisconsin; her daughter, Tammy Davis of Alabama; and her stepchildren, Donna (Kenny) Hester of Powder Springs, Laura (Ken) Moon of Temple, Jerri Mooney of Dallas, and Troy (Nicole) Massey of Virginia. Margie is also survived by her sister, Johnnie (John) Bates, sister-in-law, Beverly Lee, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest in peace.
Prior to the service, the family will welcome friends for visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
