Marcia H. Ellis' Obituary
Pastor Marcia H. Ellis of Mableton, GA. went to be with her Lord on December 17, 2023, at the age of 58. Marcia was born to Wilston Leslie and Vera Leslie (née Williams) in Kingston, Jamaica. Marcia spent her childhood and teen years in Jamaica, graduating from Wolmer’s Girls School. In November 2009, she joined her family in the States and settled in Mableton. Marcia was a woman of deep and abiding faith. From a young age, she was called by the Lord into service. She was an integral member of His Awesome Presence International Church. She wore many hats within the church, including their secretary, and eventually, a pastor. Marcia’s profound faith will be a guiding light to her family and all who loved her.
Marica is preceded in death by her mother, Vera Williams Leslie; brother, Milton Leslie; and half-sister, Yvonne Leslie. She is survived by her husband, Carlisle Washington Ellis; children, Orane (wife, Taylor) and Christina Ellis, both of Mableton; siblings, Garfield Leslie of New York, Rayon Leslie and wife, Georgia of Jamaica, Mark Leslie and wife, Sujeas of Douglasville, Winston Leslie and wife, Christina of Atlanta, Keane Leslie of Atlanta, and Trudy Leslie of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Asher and Aria Ellis; and many beloved extended family, church family, and friends.
A funeral service honoring Marcia’s life will be held Friday, December 22, at 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Dr. Uche Okorie officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 to 1:00 PM.
