Luke Frank Gore's Obituary
Luke Frank Gore, age 81, of Austell passed away December 22, 2016. Born in Austell June 5, 1935 to Luke Garrett Gore and Gertrude Daniell Gore, he lived in Cobb county most of his life. In 1954 he married the love of his life, Shirley Adkins and they had one daughter, Susan Gore Gardner.
Frank was a devoted and active member of First Baptist Church of Austell. He was a Deacon, served on numerous committees, and served in the church for over 30 years as a Sunday School class teacher. He taught a class for high school boys and later on a Couples Class, and then after the passing of Herb Maxham became teacher of the Fishers of Men adult class, which he taught up until his passing. He deeply enjoyed his role as teacher and loved all those who were a part of his classes. It was his joy to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all those he taught, and any one of them could tell you Frank's favorite person in the New Testament was the apostle Paul; Frank used to say he tried to work a mention of apostle Paul into every lesson he taught.
Frank was an attorney in Austell for over 30 years and devoted his career to providing legal representation to his beloved community. After graduating from law school in the 70's, he began his legal career with Payne Barlow & Green in Austell but eventually established his own law office with the late Robert Lee and Roger Curry on Austell Rd. where he continued to practice until his retirement. Frank was a member of the Austell Rotary Club. He enjoyed playing chess and was an avid reader. He loved playing golf and model railroading.
Luke Frank Gore is survived by his wife Shirley, his daughter Susan and her husband Reid Gardner; their children Christopher Gardner & his wife Sarah Ryman Gardner; daughter Lauren Gardner and granddaughter Skye Marie Freeman.
