Lucile Cleveland McKenney, age 87, of Powder Springs passed away September 22, 2016. Lucile was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and cooking. Lucile was preceded in death by Read Obituary

Nen and I want to express our love and condolences to Edwin and the entire McKenney family on the passing of Lucile. We have had the privilege of knowing Lucile and Edwin as neighbors and as friends for the last eight years. Godspeed Lucile - you will be sorely missed.

We love Lucile. She has blessed our family for as far back as I remember...giving us girls the wonderful gently used clothing as we were growing up, and later mentoring Mother on sewing quilts. This sweet couple bought the house and farm where I spent the first fourteen years of my life in rural Powder Springs of Cobb County, GA. I didn't know them very well b/c we moved... but they always had the sweetest expression and seemed so very much in love. I was always glad to speak with them whenever we were able to visit at Homecoming Sunday of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. I believe they truly loved the Lord Jesus, each other and their three daughters and all the extended family; their joy shone through in their sweet expressions and radiated to all they met. The sadness and pain that her family and dear friends feel at this time of separation from her will one day be replaced with immeasurable joy at their reunion in Heaven. May you all experience the comfort that God gives His children in their time of sorrow. Prayers for this family are being offered.
