Louis Walter Parr's Obituary
Mr. Louis Walter Parr, age 80 of Austell, passed away on February 28, 2010. Mr. Parr served in both the US Navy and the US Air Force and retired after 21 years of service. He later worked for 31 years at CSX Transportation before retiring in 2001. He was an active parishioner at St. John Vianney Church, a community volunteer, and a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Parr was preceded in death by his son, Daniel L. Parr; daughter, Christina Parr; brother, Jack N. Parr; and parents, Walter Charles & Julia Marie Davis Parr. He is survived by his wife, Rita Parr; children, Walter A. Parr of Ashburn, VA. Charles A. Parr of Douglasville, Gregory A. Parr of LaFayette, IN, Katherine J. Lanham of Coatesville, PA, Mary L. Parr of Stone Mountain, Timothy J. Parr of Alpharetta, Ramona G. Butler of Dallas, Thomas G. Parr of Shelbyville, KY, Sharon A. Gaubert of Jacksonville, FL; Sisters, Burnice E. Gillam of Elwood, IN, Alice Duffy of Ohio, Evelyn Gerard of Elwood, IN, Margaret Cotton of Elwood, IN, Shirley Rohrer of Indianapolis, IN, Carolyn Plake of Tipton, IN; 21 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church with Rev. Carl Zdancewicz, OFM Conv. and Rev. Martin Breski, OFM Conv. officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors. The Parr family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home with the Rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorials to the St. John Vianney Church Building Fund.
