Linda Ann Mathis' Obituary
Linda Ann Mathis, age 70, of Marietta passed away July 4th, 2021. Linda enjoyed playing card games like spades and poker, and was an infamous “card shark” because of her skill. She had a passion for animals, especially dogs, and frequently volunteered her time at Leader of the Pack.
In her early years, she moved around a lot due to her father being in the military and had lived all around the world. She loved to travel with her husband, until he passed in 2015. Above all, she cared deeply for her family and loved taking care of them.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Fulmer Ronald Mathis; parents, Dennis Leroy and Eleanor Ann Griewisch; and brother, David Griewisch. She is survived by her children, Katie Aldous of Decatur and Russell Mathis of Marietta; step-children, Jeff Murray of Anchorage, AK and Shannon Mathis of Marietta; grandchild, Kenyaria Nutt; siblings, Nora (husband, David “D.O”), Carol Griewisch, Denise Griewisch, Anita Griewisch, Becky Griewisch, Roy Griewisch, Julie (husband, Dan) Farish, Erik (wife, Lori) Griewisch, Merci Campuzano, and Beverly Estes; dogs, Rocky and Loki; granddogs, Presley and Mo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Memorial services will be announced shortly. Please check back for updates.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Linda’s name be made to the Cobb County Humane Society at https://humanecobb.com/
