Lillian Ayema's Obituary
Lillian Ayema, age 53, of Fairburn, GA, born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, passed away peacefully on September 01, 2024. She was born in 1970 to the late Clemence Madaweni and Lucy Ayema.
She graduated from Oriel Girls High School in Harare, Zimbabwe. Together with Gerald Dzingira, they gave birth to a daughter- Cecilia Dzingira. With the help of her aunt and her local catholic church in West Point, Mississippi, she would later move to America on a quest for a better life and begin her journey to pursue a career in Nursing. And although many obstacles stood in her way, she persevered, even starting her own business, Shami Healthcare Staffing Agency in Phoenix, Arizona.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Mississippi University for Women and began pursuing her master’s degree shortly after. Her love for learning was endless, often referring to herself as a “lifetime student”.
A devoted Catholic woman, whose passion laid in healthcare and helping others, she would ensure to put aside her own troubles and save others out of their own. As a nurse, her natural gift was always serving people and sharing the wisdom and knowledge she gained over the years.
Lillian also had an endless love for traveling- having been to more than 30 states, a dozen countries, including travels in the U.S. Europe, Africa, and Middle East.
She could often be found enjoying her reality t.v. shows, like TMZ, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and then some. She would spend her mornings watching the news and eating an egg sandwich, then ensuring others knew what was going on around the world based on the news reports- caring about what happens to others, even if they were not family.
Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lucy Ayema, sisters Lucille Ayema and Margarette Ayema, many aunts, uncles, and loved ones have gone before her.
She leaves behind her brother Jefferey Ayema, her daughter Cecilia Dzingira, Granddaughter Solani Martin, Grandson Elijah Martin, and a loving group of family and friends who will cherish the memories shared with her during her time here with them.
Lillian’s legacy of love, a loud, unforgettable voice, laughter, and creating memories through photos with everyone she spent time with, will leave an everlasting imprint on our hearts.
She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service Saturday from 10:00-12:00 PM.
A Reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
