Lester Fielder's Obituary
Lester M. Fielder, of Austell passed away on December 1, 2015. Mr. Fielder served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He went to Chattahoochee Tech and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Technology. His career was with Law Engineering for 37 years. He was a member of Gordon Road Baptist and then Austell First Baptist for many years. He has served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Outreach Director and many other roles in the church. Also, he served in the Lion’s Club for over 20 years. His other passions were enjoying time with family and friends, along with fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Bonnie Windom Fielder, along with his Father, Mother, two Brothers and two Sisters. He is survived by his second wife, Risa Hammonds Fielder, his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Karen Fielder of Kennesaw, his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Terry Alters of Cartersville, four grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and a brother, Gerald Fielder of Bowdon.
His family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home in Austell. The Service will be held on Friday 2:00 PM at Austell First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Austell First Baptist Church, 5991 Love Street Austell, GA 30168, or to Presbyterian Village Helping Hands, 2000 East-West Connector Austell, GA 30106.
