Mr. Leon "Lee" Ragsdale's Obituary
Mr. Leon "Lee" Ragsdale, Jr., age 89, of Marietta, GA, passed away August 17, 2012. Mr. Ragsdale was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church of Austell, and retired after 30 years of service as Fire Chief for the City of Austell. Mr. Ragsdale loved tennis, gardening, and singing. He is survived by daughters, Susanne Roberts of Marietta, GA, and Elizabeth Thieme of West Cliffe, CO; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Davis-Struempf Chapel, with Dr. Kenneth Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Austell. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 - 8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and Crematory, Austell, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315.
