Leila Ruth Grimes Jackson's Obituary
Leila Ruth (Grimes) Jackson, also lovingly known to many as “Lucy” and “Mimi” passed away on December 6, 2018 at the age of 87.
Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend was born August 15, 1931 in White Plains Georgia. Long time Mableton business woman was loved by everyone whose paths she crossed. She had a quick sarcastic wit and enjoyed being the star of the show. She dearly loved her family, good home cooking, NASCAR racing, display-worthy collectibles and world travel.
She will be fondly remembered by her children and daughter in-laws, Butch and Lynn Jackson, Bruce and Cindy Jackson, Robin Jackson and Mark Jackson; brothers and sister in-laws, Col. Richard “Dick” and Ann Grimes, James “Jimmy” and Betty Wayne Grimes and John and Sandy Grimes; grandchildren, Mac Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Ben Jackson, Jake Jackson, Kimberly Martin and Drew Jackson; and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Grimes and brother and sister in-law Robert “Bob” and June Grimes.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 11 at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Richard Vartenisian officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 3 PM before the service.
