Lawrence Benjamin Black's Obituary
Lawrence Benjamin Black, age 65, of Atlanta passed away May 9, 2017. Lawrence served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He attended Berry College and graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Lawrence was a maker of many memories and he never did anything half way. He was a kind-hearted gentleman and loved deeply. He was a beloved husband to John B. Black, M.D.; a wonderful, loving father to Mary Elizabeth (Eric) Brubaker of Toccoa; a doting grandfather to Anavah Grace & Jachin Isaiah Brubaker; and also survived by his sister, Carla Young of Parker, CO; and his spoiled dogs, Hillary and Duncan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Reggie Black officiating. Interment to follow at Brown Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service.
