Laura Maralee Godfrey's Obituary
Laura M. Godfrey, age 87, of Mableton, GA died December 29, 2025.
Born in 1938 in Nantahala, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Geneva Helen Southard, and wife of 64 years to the late Otto Thomas Godfrey.
Laura was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Higginbotham and Carolyn Miller.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Baker (Carlton) and Sharon Johnson (Neal); grandchildren, Candace Cook (Jeremy), Mandi Stephens (Kenny), Josh Cochran (Alyssa), Cole Baker (Chelsea), Chance Baker (Madison), David Johnson, Kristen Johnson, and Brittney Johnson; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Caden, Brooklynne, Andrew, Colton, Briar, Vera, Vivian, Everett, Jesse, Justin, Jacob, Gage, Bradley, Makenzie, and Aiden; and many beloved extended family members.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 3, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, at Georgia Memorial Park with Dr. Farren Roper officiating.
