Larry Ernest Nails' Obituary
Larry Ernest Nails, age 69, of Lithia Springs, passed away on March 12, 2014 after a long battle with brain cancer.
He went to high school at Douglas County High School and graduated in 1962. He went on to attend Georgia State University for post-graduate education. He worked as a Pharmaceutical Sale Representative for 31 years. With Abbot, he received many prestigious awards for his hard work and dedication. Larry dedicated and lived his life for Jesus Christ. He served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, mentor, men’s prayer group facilitator, bible study leader and he pioneered the contemporary service at Lithia Springs First Baptist Church where he attended for approximately 30 years. In most recent years, he attended Mount Paran Church where he loved to serve wherever he was needed. He enjoyed living life and traveling with his wife Diane, spending quality time with his friends and actively playing with all of his grandchildren who knew him better as “Poppy.”
Larry is survived by his wife, Diane Nails of Lithia Springs, his two sons and his daughters in law, Chad and Michelle Nails and Jason and Jennifer Nails, nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cameron, Madelyn, Emmy, Mason, Mia, Noah, Max and Martín. Also surviving are many special family members including sister, Judie Godfrey, step-mother Ruth Nails, and step sisters Kathy Willoughby and Karen Henley, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
Visitation will be held at Davis Struempf Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00pm The funeral service will be held at Lithia Springs First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 3:00 pm. Burial/Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial.
