Kyla Ayanna Jones' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Kyla Ayanna Jones
Kyla Ayanna Jones, known affectionately to many as “Kythethooter,” passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on July 20, 2001, in San Jose, California, Kyla eventually brought her bright energy and ambitious spirit to Austell, Georgia, where she resided at the time of her passing.
A proud graduate of Sacramento High School, Kyla was a natural athlete and a "hustler" in every sense of the word. One of her proudest milestones was earning her spot on the basketball team, a testament to the determination and drive that defined her life. Whether she was celebrating the achievement of getting her all-black Challenger or building her presence as a social media influencer, Kyla was independent, smart, and always focused on her next goal.
To know Kyla was to know laughter. She was the undisputed "life of the party"—outgoing, "goofy," and always ready to dance. She had a rare gift for drawing people in, not just with her humor, but with her heart. She was a listening ear for those in need, a motivator for her peers, and a source of wisdom, always ready with the best advice. Kyla was musical, artistic, and possessed a creative soul who could draw and inspire.
Kyla’s faith as a Christian grounded her, and her love for her family was her greatest priority. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt who adored her nephews and made everyone around her feel happy and seen.
She is survived by her loving parents, LaTonya Burns and Kyle Jones; her siblings, Kyrisha Jones, Dezmond Burns, Keshun Burns, and Heaven Jones; and her cherished nephews, Jessiah, Damien, Kymond, and Keion.
Kyla was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gregory Burns, and her paternal grandparents, Roosevelt Jones and Valerie E. Austin.
Kyla lived by her own rules and left an indelible mark on everyone she met. As she famously said, “Ky the thooter, the one and only with all the cheese no macaroni if you don’t know me ... now ya know me.” We will never forget her.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Kyla's life will be held Saturday, April 11, at 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel.
