Kevin Eugene Munford's Obituary
Kevin Eugene Munford, the cherished son of Barry and Sheila Thurman of Austell,
Georgia, passed away on November 17, 2025, leaving an irreplaceable void within his
family. Born in Atlanta, GA on December 12, 1970, to Sheila Thurman and Jesse Munford (predeceased). He attended Cobb County Public Schools and demonstrated remarkable athletic ability in football, basketball, baseball, and track.
In 2023, Kevin was joined in holy matrimony to Kenya (Walker) Munford. Throughout his career, Kevin owned and operated K&D Lawn Services for over eighteen years and was also employed by Republic Services as a front load operator. He exemplified the definition of a hardworking man. His enthusiasm for University of Georgia football and motorcycles was well known, and he was recognized among family and friends for his vibrant personality, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Kenya Munford; parents, Barry & Sheila Thurman; children: Devin Munford, Keirra Munford, and Jamilla (Ishmel) Washington; step kids, Kwante Walker, TreVon Walker, T’Asia Walker; sisters: Deanna Thurman, Barnita Taylor, and Christy Thurman; brother Eddie Munford (predeceased) and sister-n-law Yulanda Munford; special in-laws, Carl & Brenda Mitchell. And a host of family members, including four grandchildren, one nephew, three nieces, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The Munford and Thurman families express their sincere gratitude for the support, thoughts, and prayers received during this difficult time. They feel profoundly fortunate to be surrounded by caring relatives and friends.
A funeral service honoring Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st from 5-7 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and on Saturday before the service from 10-11 AM.
Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
