Kenneth Lamar Lester's Obituary
Kenneth Lamar Lester, age 84, of Kennesaw went home to his Lord and Savior May 17, 2025.
Lamar was born to J. Lewis Lester and Dorothy Dickerson Lester in Atlanta, but spent a majority of his early years in Cobb County. He graduated from South Cobb High School, Class of 1958, and went on to obtain a Bachelors in Accounting from Georgia State in 1965.
Lamar spent a lengthy career with Wade Ford, serving in multiple capacities during his 42 years of service, and retired as the General Manager.
Lamar was a lifetime member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and a deacon for over 50 years. He also served as the church treasurer for many years, and taught Sunday School to the boy’s group, and later the men’s group, for over 20 years.
In his spare time and when he was able, Lamar loved to golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Lester Dean; and son-in-law, Darrell Seward.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend for over 64 years, Linda Minter Lester; daughter, Lyric Lester (Maria Wild) of Largo, FL and Lisa Lester Seward of Powder Springs; brother, Wayne Lester (Dolly) of Woodstock; grandchild, Jeffrey Landers (Megean) of Cave City, AR; great-grandchild, Laynie; cousin and bonus daughter, Michelle Skelton Cook (Ronnie) of Austell; and beloved nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 22, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM officiated by Dr. A.T. Stewart.
Interment will occur at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
