R. F. (Kenneth) Huddleston
Mr. R.F. Huddleston, 78 of Mableton, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. Mr. Huddleston, known as Kenneth to family and friends, was born on July 27, 1933 in Booneville, Mississippi. His family included 12 brothers and sisters. Kenneth served in the Air Force during the Korean War where he discovered a passion for military aircraft. After four years in the Air Force and training as a electronics technician, he began a lifetime career with the Lockheed Company in Marietta, Georgia. Career projects included work on the C-5 Galaxy and several other top security special projects. He retired in 1991 after 35 years of service. He was married 51 years to Katheryn Kendrick Huddleston from Chatsworth, Georgia. They married in 1960 and moved to Mableton to start their home and raise two daughters, Carol and Kris. As the years passed, he gained two sons-in-law and three grandsons. Early retirement allowed him to spend much time with his young grandsons and enjoy participating in many ways with their lives. Kenneth enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Katheryn; two daughters Kris and Carol, their husbands Dave and Tony and three grandsons: Tyler, Charlie, and Jackson; and one sister, Sybil Stanley of Four Oaks, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Davis-Struempf Chapel on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Randal Whitten and Rev. Tony Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Baptist Cemetery in Kennesaw.
