Ken, Never thought of you as "My wife's" Granddad. I never met my own Granddad's but if I had known them, I would like to think they were like you. Although I only knew you for the last 7yrs of your life. I had the pleasure of sharing lots of laughs and good times in that space of time. We will truly miss you. Oh dear Ken, it was just 82 more days to our Diamond Wedding Anniversary when you left us, nearly 60 years together. You are so sadly missed by all of our family - so many happy memories to look back on. I just know, that as one who really loved all things beautiful, flowers, trees, birds and all the glories of our backyard, you will now have even more to see. It has taken me so long to write something on here because I haven't been able to look at this for fear I would cry and not stop.
I don't really know what to say accept I will and do really miss you Granddad Ken, I can't believe you have moved on and even though I will see you again one day I am so sad that you are not with us. How can you say goodbye to a friend of 47 years. We came from England in the mid 1960s, employed at Lockheed in Marietta. We maintained a friendship and my memories of the years will never fade. As I held Ken's hand during his last moments I could not say goodbye only

I feel priviliged to have met a true English gentleman. In the time that I have known him, he always appeared to be in the background but was a real 'presence' quiet and dignified.
