Ann was born on April 4, 1941, she was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Bertha Plunkett Juhlin Adams, father, Marvin Wesley Juhlin and also her sister Donna Jean Juhlin Knight Yarborough. Ann was born in Atlanta and lived off 16th St in her early childhood. Her family moved to Cummings Dr when she was 7 years old where she then met her life-long friend Jill Hill Bannister. Ann attended Cascade Elementary School and Southwest High School, graduating in 1959. She married Richard Peter Jongema in 1963, divorcing in 1972. They had 5 children, Holly, Wendy, Rick, Kerry and Robert. Ann attended Beecher Hills Baptist most of her early life, and was very active in her church, serving as a Sunday school teacher. Shortly after her divorce, Ann joined Cascade Rd Seventh Day Adventist Church (now Lakeview) Here she met her other best friend Rick Shadix. Again, she kept active in her church up until her illness. Ann made sure all of her children were given a Christian education and though there wasn’t much money, that they never did without. She was a marvel at finding great places to picnic and fun things to do. Ann was an avid Braves and Falcons fan, attending games as often as possible. She loved to garden and always had flowers planted wherever she lived. She rarely met a stranger and was always happy to share her Christian message with all. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to no end and spoiled the grands in every way she could.
