Peggy R. Greene
To the Family of Katherine Butts Gildard:
Her daughter Sheila and son-in-law Philip Olson;
sister Hilda Denno; and
grandchildren Richard and Thomas Olson:
I am so sorry to learn that this sweet Katherine died on December 21, 2016. Katherine and I ate across from each other at the same table in the dining room at Atria Mableton Senior Living from the day I came here on November 1, 2014, until she left.
Katherine was a lady of few words, but I talked and offered the menu to her every meal. Sometimes she'd say, "No thank you." Once when two staff members were trying to get her to go back to her room or something, she said very distinctly, "LEAVE ME ALONE.." She finished pulling her chair to the table and waited for her food.
Jane at the front desk told me a little story about Katherine in which Katherine said, "Now where am I going to sit?" Jane was very kind to Katherine.
I remember that Katherine had tied a few handkerchiefs on her walker so as to identify it quickly. I put green dots on mine.
I've missed Katherine, and I am thankful that she could go home
Blessings to each of you.
Sincerely,
Peggy R. Greene e-mail: [email protected]
