I remember walking with Mom through the woods behind Kennesaw Mountain once, and coming up on a pile of leaves with a glove sticking up high. She took a stick and knocked off the glove t make sure no one was under there. We laughed so hard for the next mile of the walk. She once chawed convenient store robbers with her car in mableton, to get their license plate. Now you know where I get my mini detective schools from, and you thought it was a Dad? Well, Both! I remember all the trips to Grants to eat breakfast or the krystal on Sunday morning. I remember her saying, you kids make me act like the devil before I go to church. It was tough getting all of us ready. I remember the time when she caught me cruising in Hawthorne Plaza and knocked on my Camaro window and told me to get my butt home now!
I remember her lining all of us kids up to clean our ears out. I remember staying out doors until 9pm because only the boogie man is out after that.
I remember clothing shopping with my brothers in Rich’s once when she told them to stop complaining and pick out jeans and then when they poured she started for the exit door. I remember she would read her bible every morning at 5:30am and we would get up and join her while she read to our sleepy heads.
I remember on Mother’s Day picking out red roses from the rose bush out front to wear to church on our clothing, to show our love and support. She would wear one too, to show her mom love. Red for living, White for passed on.
I guess I need to change my color next year to show she is in heaven and a pure soul now and with Jesus!
I love you Mom and I promise I will see you again. See you when I see you...
