Karen Leisa LeGall's Obituary
Karen Leisa Carter LeGall,, daughter of Lossie M. Carter and the late Purvis Carter was born on June 17, 1960, in Morehead City NC. Karen was the forth of seven siblings. Karen’s earthly journey began in Morehead City Hospital, Morehead City, NC and ended in Atlanta, Georgia on 24 October 2022. Karen attended Godette Elementary School in Havelock, NC and graduated from Havelock High School, Havelock, NC in 1978. She furthered her education at Craven Community College in New Bern, NC; receiving a degree in Early Childhood Education and Art. Karen at an early age confessed Christ as her personal savior and joined Pilgrim Rest Christian Church, Havelock, NC. She served faithfully as a member of the Young Adult Choir and Sunday School under the leadership of the late Rev. A. M. Jones. Karen enjoyed working with children and being a homemaker. Later in life, God allowed her to work successfully with children at Gateway Academy in Austell, GA as a teacher. Karen leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Brian R. LeGall of Austell, GA, her daughter, LaShauna Nophavong of Acworth, GA, brothers Boyce Carter (Bonnie) of Charlotte, NC, Reginald Carter (Jennifer) of Havelock, NC; sisters, Jennifer McCoy (James) of Jacksonville, NC, Feleica Carter of Charlotte, NC, Altheia Brown of Chesterfield, VA and Donna Waters (John) of Elgin, SC, 2 aunts and 2 uncles, 7 Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, a great great nephew, cousins and a multitude of friends.
