Karen Patrice Duke's Obituary
Karen Patrice Duke, age 63, of Austell passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 3, 2021. Karen was an Austell native who spent all of her life in this area. She graduated from South Cobb High School, where she played drums in their marching band. After high school, Karen went on to expand her musical accomplishments by playing with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corp. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. Karen also had a heart for caring for animals and people. She was a devoted caregiver and had that special wisdom and intuition necessary to excel at caring for others. She loved the Atlanta Braves and was able to enjoy going to a game and seeing the Braves win the World Series before she passed. She was a fiercely independent person, which she came by naturally because her mother and grandmother were much the same way. Karen was a beloved sister, daughter, and true friend.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, C.J. and Sadie Daniel Duke; and brother, Steven Lynn Duke. She is survived by her beloved brother, Davis Lee Duke (husband, Robert “Bob” Hall) of Hapeville; and many cousins, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
For anyone wishing to view the service virtually, a livestream link will be available on Karen’s Tribute Page at the above-listed service time at www.davisstruempf.com
