Julius "Jay" Henry Newton's Obituary
Julius “Jay” Henry Newton, age 79 of Marietta passed away August 29, 2021. Jay was an active member of Lost Mountain Church of God in Powder Springs. He retired from Atlanta Bonded Warehouse and previously was owner and operator of Franklin Road Gulf Station in Marietta. Jay loved camping, family, and bluegrass music.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruby Newton and sister, Mildred Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hallie Jones Newton; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Robin Newton of Powder Springs; David and Lori Newton of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Chelsea, Trevor, Kristen, Ruthie, Abbie and Ellie; sister, Dianne (Jeff) Hughes; sister, Donna Bernardo; brother, Jimmy (Barbara) Newton; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Newton.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Bates officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
