Judy Lynn Austin's Obituary
Judy Lynn Austin, age 69, of Lakeland, FL passed away October 25, 2021. Judy grew up in the Powder Springs area and graduated from McEachern High School. For most of her adult life, she was a stay-at-home mom to her beloved children. After her kids had grown up and left the nest, Judy went back to school to obtain her Bachelors in Human Services and Masters in Professional Counseling. She found fulfillment in helping others navigate through the crises in their lives. Judy was a woman of strong faith and she loved her church, Believer’s Fellowship in Lakeland. Among her favorite things to do was attend church functions, float in the waves and nap on the beach, and of course, spend time with her grandbabies. Judy also adored all types of animals and her family recounts growing up with cats, dogs, birds, ferrets…. you name it, Judy loved them all.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James “Two Daddy” and Margaret Austin. She is survived by her children, Mindie Hill of Lakeland, FL, Shaun Hill (wife, Robyn) of Macon, Jeremy Hill (wife, Michelle) of Lakeland, Juda Kelso (husband, Keith) of Lakeland, and Abby Lockhart (husband, Tim) of Lakeland; 11 grandchildren, Kora (husband, Jeremy), Torrie, Evan, Avery, Caleb, Annie, Desmond, Maddison, Colin, Darby, and Noah; and many beloved extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4th, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Powder Springs City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
