Juan A. Lopez Jr.'s Obituary
Juan Alberto Lopez, Jr. passed away, age 68, on October 17th in Smyrna, Georgia.
Born on February 23, 1955, in New York City to Rafaela Rivera and Juan Alberto Lopez, Sr., Juan was raised in a loving household alongside his two sisters Zoraida and Deborah. He attended Wilmington College where he played college basketball and went on to earn his J.D. at New York Law School. As a practicing attorney in New Jersey, Juan specialized in Family Law and Real Estate. Juan loved adventure, travel and exploring new things such as cuisine, cultures, and sport. He enjoyed flying, biking, swimming, and running, and earned his private pilot license, and PADI scuba diving and sailing certifications.
Juan’s greatest loves were his children, Adam D. Lopez, and Elizabeth M. Bodero and his five grandchildren, Marco, Nicolas, Joaquin, Dominic, and Lillian. He was proud of their accomplishments, and they are happily married to their life partners Luciano Bodero and Kelly Lopez. He is also survived by his two sisters, Zoraida, Debbie, and beloved nephews and nieces, Ryan, Jessica, Jeffrey, Kathryn, Christopher, and Cristina.
Juan was a caring and gentle spirit with a quirky sense of humor. More importantly, he was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed forever by the people who cherished him.
To honor a beautiful soul, we gather to celebrate him on October 21st 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Deacon Marino Gonzalez officiating.
The family will received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
