Johnny Joe Johnson's Obituary
Johnny Joe Johnson, age 82 of Dallas, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville, Georgia passed away February 22, 2024. Johnny was born, May 26, 1941 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late, Clarence Johnson and the late, Gladys Higgins. He was raised in Atlanta by his mother and the late John Alvin Higgins and attended West Fulton High School. He retired from UPS Transportation Division (formerly, Overnite Transportation, Atlanta). Johnny shared a beautiful and enduring love with his beloved wife, Janet, whom he was married to for 63 remarkable years (4-9-1960). Their marriage was a testament to their commitment, dedication, and unwavering support for one another. Their love story is an inspiration to all who knew them and their bond will forever be cherished.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Janet Skinner Johnson; his son, Jeffery Lloyd Johnson; grandchildren, Brock Spencer Johnson and Lauren Brooke Johnson; extended family, sister in law, Jean Martin (Howard Martin, deceased); sister in law, Sheila Crews (Stan Crews) and many loving nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, Johnny was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Johnson and brother, Harvey Johnson.
And, his most beloved Uncle Mulberry "Pop" Smith.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, in Davis-Struempf Chapel with Brother Tommy Campbell officiating.
