John David Floyd's Obituary
Sgt. Major John David Floyd, USMC, retired of Mableton passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the age of 83. Sgt. Major Floyd was a veteran of the World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam and also served during peacetime. He retired after 30 years in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the South Cobb Church of Christ. He is survived by his Daughters, Itra Susan Taylor of Florida and Wanda A. Grogan of Fairburn, Five grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, Brothers Billy Floyd of Centerville, AL, Larry Floyd and Gene Floyd both of Piedmont, AL, Sisters, Marie Kaiser of Piedmont, AL, Jeannette Floyd of Rome, Brenda Grimes of AL, and Karen Floyd of Buffalo, NY.
