John Smith's Obituary
Mr. John F. Smith of Austell passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the age of 83. Mr. Smith was a Charter Member of Calvary Baptist and served as the Treasurer for 32 years and was a Deacon. He retired from A&P in 1979 after 42 years of service. Mr. Smith loved Western Films. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Hazel Henderson Smith, son and daughter-in-law David and Susan Hendrix of Dalton, daughter and son-in-law Jane and Charlie Davis of Birmingham, brothers; Chester Smith of Stockbridge and Roy Smith of Jonesboro, sisters; Rachael Atwood of Smyrna and Becky Pace of Marietta, grandchildren; Melody and Allen Hammontree of Dalton, Meredith and James Tyson of Dalton, Amy and Keith Hager of Birmingham, Jason and Kristin Davis of PA. great grandchildren Tait and Hudson Hager, Harmony, Hannah and Hope Hammondtree, Rhett Tyson and Morgan Guidetti. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 PM. Services will be Friday 11 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Humphries, Bill Rorie and Rev. Arnold Brown officiating.
