John Bryant Jordin Sr.'s Obituary
John Bryant Jordin, 75, of Austell, GA, passed away on April 17th, 2022. As a youth, John attended Berry Academy in Rome, Georgia, where he excelled academically and as a member of the Berry tennis and basketball teams. John was inducted into the Berry High School Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1964/65 Championship basketball team in 2017.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army, attending Officer Training School before being assigned to the 2nd Battalion of the 22nd Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Serving as the commander of a field artillery unit during his deployment to Vietnam, he earned multiple accommodations, including the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, and the Purple Heart.
After leaving the Army as a Captain, John completed his MBA at Emory University in Atlanta. Professionally, he held multiple positions in finance for C&S Bank and Touche Ross before joining Norell Home Health.
John was preceded in death by his parents Nora and William Jordin, Sr. and by his brother Arthur William Jordin, Jr. He is survived by his son John Bryant Jordin, Jr., his daughter Christy Allison Hansard, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Ann Jordin.
John will be interred with veteran’s honors on Friday, June 3, 12:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Veterans Empowerment Organization at www.veohero.org.
