John Doyle Huddleston's Obituary
John Doyle Huddleston, age 84, of Austell passed away September 23, 2022. Doyle was born in Marietta to Deerwood “D.W” and Margaret Huddleston. The family moved into Atlanta and Doyle graduated from Sylvan Hills High School. After high school, Doyle married the love of his life, Margie Ann Denman, and the couple moved to Cobb County.
Doyle loved to garden in his free time. He was well-known for his Beefsteak Tomatoes, and even had the Marietta Daily Journal write a piece on him. He attended many farmer’s markets, including the ones in Acworth, Kennesaw, and Cartersville, and participated in the crafts festival in Ellijay for many years. He loved gardening so much that he even came out of retirement to take care of the grounds at Brookstone Golf Course.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margie Huddleston; daughters, LeAnne Galloway (husband, Ray) of Dallas, and Lynne Huddleston of Cartersville; granddaughters, Morgan Galloway and Emma Rae Galloway; siblings, Joyce Usher (husband, Armond) of Mableton, Eloise Haulbrook (husband, John) of Hiram, and Mike Huddleston (wife, Sheryl) of Mableton; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
Private family services will be held at a later date. For anyone wishing to send flowers, they are kindly and gratefully accepted and will be sent directly to Mrs. Margie Huddleston.
