Joe Richardson, Sr.'s Obituary
Joe Richardson, age 68 “yet forever 39” of Austell, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away May 27, 2014. Joe proudly served in The United States Marine Corps during The Vietnam War, and retired from The Atlanta Journal Constitution as a Distribution Manager after 25 years. Joe’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved making everyone laugh. Joe enjoyed traveling, watching the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, high school football, and was a proud supporter of Carrollton High School Athletics. He was preceded in death by daughter, Melissa Ann Richardson. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Celeste Richardson; son, Joe G. (Susan) Richardson, Jr. of Statesboro; daughter, Melinda (Scott) Daniel of Dallas; brother, W. Gene Richardson of Rome; grandchildren, Cara Richardson, Emma Richardson, and Trey "stinker bug" Daniel. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Davis- Struempf Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them at the funeral home Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM for fellowship and reflection.
