JoAnne Moss Price's Obituary
JoAnne Moss Price, age 90, of Smyrna passed away surrounded by her family on October 7th,2022.
JoAnne was born to Ernest and Mellie Moss in Mableton. She grew up in the Mableton area and graduated from Mableton High School. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Ralph Howell Price. She and Ralph were very involved in their church, first at Fortified Hills, and then moved their attendance to the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. She loved her Sunday School, the “Joy Sunday School Class”, and was still attending and participating up until very recently. JoAnne was a proud breast cancer survivor who had just made her five-year mark. She loved to stay active, and could be found gardening, cooking, raking, vacuuming, cutting her lawn, even in her later years! She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose light will be dearly missed.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ralph H. Price; and all three of her sisters, Hazel, Mary, and Tina. She is survived by her children, Mark H. Price (wife, Venesia) of Cartersville, and Melanie H. Scoville (husband, John) of Marietta; grandchildren, Dr. Brandee Price (husband, Pedro Albelda), Danielle Gradwell (husband, Vince), and Matthew Ammons; and great-grandchildren, Reese Gradwell, Mark and Ethan Albelda; nieces, Sheree Green and Sandy Delves; and many beloved extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10th, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Jim Wallace officiating. A private family interment service will be held afterward at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 to 1:00 PM.
