Joan Frances Todd Ivey's Obituary
Joan Frances Todd Ivey, 93, of Acworth, GA died peacefully on November 9th, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was an only child born in Baltimore, MD on September 4th, 1930. Being a Navy brat, she moved around quite a bit during her childhood but called Portsmouth, VA and Mableton, GA home. She enjoyed a long, beautiful life full of lots of joy and laughter. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Leland Lodge in Mableton where she served many years and was a Grand Marshal for the state of Georgia. She was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and painting. She loved being out in the sun, exercising at the gym (into her late 70’s), and playing games (and winning). She loved animals, music, football and her evening toddy. But most of all she loved her family. It was with her family that she found the most joy. She was so very proud of her family and said that when she was surrounded by her family she felt so happy and proud that she thought her heart would burst.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William Paul (Chief) Ivey and two grandchildren, Jacob Ivey and Ashley Fisher. She is survived by her five children, Marsha (Steve) Staggs of Little Elm, TX, Sandra (Dennis) Tucker of St Johns, FL, Michael (Marvalane) Ivey of Cedar Bluff, AL, Stacy (Mark) Fisher of Douglasville, GA and Angie (Steve) Goodyear of Acworth, GA, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
