Jimmy Landers' Obituary
Jimmy Landers, age 84, of Austell passed away October 5, 2017. Jimmy was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the Army in the Korean War and received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Jimmy was a Mason, Shriner, an avid golfer and fisherman, and was a former champion at the Dogwood Invitational. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sara Landers; children, Jeff (Karen) Landers of Lawrenceville and Connie Disney Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Landers, Josh Landers, and Kyle Disney; great grandchildren, Colton Landers and Tinsley Landers; brother, Henry Landers of Woodstock. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Humphries officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cartersville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 4780 Flint Hill Rd SW, Austell, GA 30106.
