I'm posting here to share a memory of an old friend in hopes to always provide a reminder to Jerry's family of the man they always knew him to be.
I met Jerry the first day of first grade back in 1965. We went thru school together until he left for college and I left for the Army. Our paths crossed some years later when I had a problem that required a lawyer (so who do you go to, the guy you've known most of your life). I was dressed in my military uniform, almost embarrassed at the differences in out stations in life. During our initial "catch up small talk, I expressed as much. Jerry looked me square in the eye and reminded me that we were both the same people that took nearly every class together for 12 years, lived in the same neighborhood, knew the same people, went to the same places. He said that life just took us down different roads but "Hey Tim, look where we are now, together sitting here talking like we've always done, seems like old times to me" (or words to that effect).
Jerry was a guy who was rock solid all the time, smart, straight and to the point but at the same time loved to have a really good laugh. Till I see you again old friend...Tim
