Jerry W. Cumbie's Obituary
Jerry W. Cumbie, age 87 of Lithia Springs passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife of 39 years, Delorise Cumbie by his side.
Jerry was Baptist by faith and was retired from with an accomplished Heating and Air Career. In his younger years, Jerry served his country in the United States Navy. He was also an adventurous outdoorsman. Whether it with was riding in motorcycle enduros, hand gun steel target shooting or 3-D archery. Jerry was competitive in nature, always up for a challenge. Even at home, he loved watching Jeopardy many times even stumping the contestants.
Jerry was an amazing father and step- father. He was also a huge influence to many others. He never met a stranger.
Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Cumbie; parents, W.P and Hattie Cumbie; sisters, Barbara Jones and Shirley Scott; step-brothers, Richard Griffin and Dan Griffin grandson, Casey Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Delorise Cumble; son, Mike (Alisha) Cumbie of Acworth; son, Mark (Deidri) Cumbie of Powder Springs; son, Matt (Barbara) Cumbie of Sisters, Oregon; daughter, Melissa Cumbie; stepchildren, Carmon (Darryl) Williams of Bremen and Jimmy (Erin) O’Neal of North Carolina; step-brother, Jimmy Griffin; grandchildren, Heather, Nora, Ashley, Candice, Iris, MezzMyrh and Pinatova; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Private Family services will be held. Anyone wishing to view the service virtually may do so via a livestream video that will appear on Mr. Cumbie’s page on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
