Jean Meers Darby's Obituary
Jean Meers Darby, age 90, of Austell, formerly of Mableton passed away July 28, 2026.
A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Jean was known for her generous spirit and her dedication to her faith. Jean retired from Yancey Brothers after many years.
Her passion for sewing and quilting led to the creation of thousands of beautiful quilts.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often retreating to Panama City Beach and the tranquil Hiawassee Mountains, where she made many cherished memories with her family.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clark R. Darby; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Teri Darby; sister, Pat Kuter; brother, Buddy Meers.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Robin Darby of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Todd (Christina) Darby, Zachery Darby, and Patrick Darby; great-grandson, Connor Darby; brother-in-law, Doug Kuter; nephews, Hank (Jennifer) and Pete.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Braswell and Rev. Bill Rorie officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
