Jamie Lorraine Baldwin's Obituary
Jamie Lorraine Baldwin, age 50, went to be with the Lord December 9, 2023.
Jamie was born to Jackie Baldwin and Elaine Maddox in Austell. Her childhood was spent in Orlando, FL, where she attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and Church. In her teenage years, the family moved back to the Cobb County area, and Jamie graduated from Pebblebrook High School, Class of 1991. After high school, Jamie attended Georgia Southern, and soon after, joined the staff at Honey Bear Daycare. Jamie began working at Honey Bear when she was 15 years old, and after college, returned to become a beloved Pre-K teacher.
An ardent animal lover, Jamie had a passion for rescuing animals in need. Her beloved dog, Rain, was so special to her, and she also dearly loved her cats. Jamie was also a creative spirit and loved to express the beauty of the world through her sketches. Her artistic pursuits led her into photography, and she had an easy way of working with the little ones on “Picture Day” at Pre-k.
Jamie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Eva Baldwin, and Lavaine and Elmina Maddox.
She is survived by her loving parents, Elaine McManus of Lithia Springs and Jackie Baldwin of Austell; uncle, Greg Baldwin and his wife, Annie; and many cousins, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held Saturday, December 23, 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Mike Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM before the service.
Interment will occur at a later date.
