I grew up right above the Turley family & never knew James since he was already gone from home when I was a young girl. Felton often come to my father’s machine shop to borrow tools. Then not too many years ago he & his wife started attending First Baptist Church of Powder Springs. My husband & some others from our church went out to his home at Nebo & built a shed I believe. As a child Felton was very much as you described James. I knew Mr. & Ms. Turkey from wandering down to their back door & Ms. Turley would often ask me in. Sorry to hear of your husband’s death & hope some of what I’ve said brings back memories you’ve heard James speak of. Ann Harris Harmon
Sending prayers to the family. Mr. Turley was always so sweet & a pleasure to talk with when he used to walk by our house.
He frequently attended the softball games that his granddaughter, Mel, played in. My daughter also played and that is where I got to know him. As noted in his obituary, he was a warm and gentle man. It was my privilege to have known him.
