James Paul Smith , III's Obituary
James Paul Smith III, age 73, of Austell, passed away June 9, 2016. James served in the 82ndAirborne Division of the United States Army from 1961-1964, and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. James enjoyed drag racing, sky diving, and taking road trips. He was full of life and enjoyed spending time with his family.
James was preceded in death by his son, Ronald James Smith; grandmother, Grace Hunt; and brother, Donald Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deborah Smith of Austell; children, Darrell Gann of Douglasville; Dean Gann of Dallas; Paul Dwayne Smith of Hiram; John Paul Smith of Illinois; Angel Christina Smith of Fayetteville. James is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth “Fuzz” Smith; Roger Smith; and grandson, Dakota James Smith
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rueben Smith officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30 PM, Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home.
