James “Jim” Nash, age 91, of Cartersville passed away January 1, 2022.
Jim was born in Atlanta to W.D. and Ruby Nash. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served during the Korean Conflict. His service in the military ended in 1954 with the rank of Staff Sergeant and he was honorably discharged. After his discharge, he went on to work in sales in the trucking business, where he stayed for 25 years until the Lord called him into the ministry. He went back to school and became an ordained minister, with his first appointment being at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Jim served his community at Mt. Harmony until his retirement 19 years later. Jim and Joan moved down to Panama City and were active in volunteering at St. Andrew’s Medical Center. They also joined St. Andrew’s Baptist Church, and still are members to this day.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, W.D. and Ruby Nash; son, Barry Lynn Nash; and brother, John Calvin Nash.
