Jacqueline L. Mossberg's Obituary
Jacqueline Louise Wilson Mossberg, age 87, of Austell passed away August 16, 2025.
Jackie was born to Nelle and John Sidney Wilson in Marietta. She was a graduate of South Cobb High School. In 1955, she married George Mossberg, whom she loved and cherished until his untimely death in 1989.
Jackie was employed as a Financial User Support Analyst at Lockheed Martin for 30 years. She retired from there in 1997.
Jackie was a wonderful, kind, and giving person, who put the needs of others before herself. She was the rock of our family; a person that we would all turn to for support, direction, and inspiration. She was a very devoted Christian woman, always leading by example. She provided the spiritual basis for so many of us to understand the true meaning of love and God.
Jackie was a very active person who loved traveling and the outdoors. She visited many countries in her full 87 years of life, but some of her favorite trips were with family on camping trips to the lake or out west.
The thing our family most cherishes about Jackie was her love and devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all hung the moon in her eyes. Her kind, nurturing soul provides a place of stability and love unlike anything else, and we love her so much for that.
She was truly the most amazing, wonderful mom and person anyone could ever hope for, and even though we are devastated by her death, we are comforted by who she was and the lives she touched.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Mossberg; brother, Steve Wilson; and her partner of 30 years, Don Hungate.
Jackie is survived by her children, Tim (Robyn) Mossberg of Destin, FL and Karen Mossberg of Austell, GA; brothers, John Sidney Wilson and Robbert Sanford Wilson; grandchildren, Leah Mossberg; bonus grandchildren, Chase Rainey, Jordyn Victoria Howard, Brynn Wilson, and Forrest Wilson; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Keller, Savannah, Arsyn, and Camlee.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 22, 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Jack Knight officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service.
Interment will follow the service at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
