Jack "Pop" Popham's Obituary
Jack “Pop” Popham, age 76 of Kennesaw passed away July 30, 2015. He was employed by the City of Atlanta Police Department from 1967-1978 during that time he founded the Honor Guard. Jack was also the Director of Security at the Omni from 1978-1997 and before that was employed part time at the Omni. He then worked for ASA and Delta Airlines as a ramp agent.
Jack is survived by his wife of 27 years, Charlotte M. Popham; daughter, Kim (Allen) Shaw of Hoover, AL; sons, Dwight (Dana) Carter of Palmetto, Qualin (Nikema) Green of Kennesaw; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Qualin, Jr., Stephen, Illyana, Gabriel and Geneva; brother, Jerry (Judy) Popham of Kennesaw; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Davis- Struempf Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Post and Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home, Austell, www.davisstruempf.com
