Jack David Fromm's Obituary
We are saddened to announce the passing of Jack D Fromm, 86, on October 15th, 2012. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Ruth, family John Fromm, Elizabeth Ross and husband Michael, Amy Rosenblatt and husband Allan, Dee Stikeman and husband Jim, David Duncan and wife Judi, brother Tom Fromm, seven grandchildren and two nephews.
Jack was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on November 27, 1925 to Edith and Abraham Fineberg. Jack was immensely proud of his Jewish heritage and he held that connection throughout his life. He spent his formative years in Huntington Woods, graduating from Royal Oak High School prior to serving in the Army. He was a sensitive man who was always striving to do well and care for others. Jack was a fun-loving, devoted father with a passion for politics, cartooning, golf and the written word. His positive outlook on life and his appreciation for life made him a man with a complete absence of malice and a true lover of life.
During his time in Georgia as a general contractor and builder, Jack was most proud of his role in the revitalization of the Techwood Homes projects in the mid 1980’s. Jack spent much of his time in the neighborhood ensuring the enhancements to the homes were completed with the goal of making the area a better place to live for the residents.
Jack also spent many of his later years volunteering, including the 1996 Olympics as a greeter at the airport, multiple years with the court system, assisting troubled youths in rehabilitation, and most recently at the Well Star Cobb hospital. Jack excelled in his volunteerism as he was a man who truly loved all people and loved to engage in conversation and help others.
Jack’s memory will live on in the many people he touched, both with his charming wit, as well as his voracious appetite for putting thought to word.
Dad, Grandpa Jack, Sunshine Grampie, Bean … you will be missed.
