Isabella Anissa Placide's Obituary
Isabelle or Izzie as we called her, was born June 17, 2015; weight 7lbs 5.6oz to Cindy Placide.
Though diagnosed with a lethal condition and was not expected to live past neo-natal stage, she was strong willed, resilient, and determined to leave imprints on those she met.
From birth Isabelle was on a ventilator due to her lack of oxygen from underdeveloped lungs. Despite her limitations and fragile state, Izzie was an alert, active and vibrant baby girl. She loved listening to music, especially Mozart and Beethoven, and watching her favorite videos and melodies from “Become Jehovah's Friend” collection.
She loved the sound of her mother’s voice, loved looking into her eyes and following her around the room. She listened as her mom sang and read to her, and moved her lips as to communicate with her, even shaking her head when upset. Izzie loved her spa days, frequent baths, dressing (not so much) getting her nails done, photo shoots, and sucking on her breathing tube.
But her favorite moments were just cuddling on mom’s chest and in her arms.
Hours before her passing, she blinked her eyes and smiled. Her mother called her my little chubby whubby, sunshine, and Princess as she lay in her arms. Because of her condition Izzie’s lungs couldn’t support her growing body. Her life came to an end at only 2 months and 10 days old.
To know Isabelle was to love her. Isabelle touched the hearts of everyone who met her, especially her caretakers and medical staff at the Cobb WellStar NICU. They loved and cared for her like their own.
If love could save her from her illness she’d still be here with us. However she now sleeps peaceful with no more pain or suffering. She’ll be in Jehovah’s Book of Life awaiting the resurrection. Acts 24:15
Rest well my sweet Isabelle, till we meet in Jehovah’s Promised Paradise where “No resident will say, I am sick” (Isa 33:24) And the enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. (1 Corinthians 15:26)
Isabelle leaves behind her mother Cindy Placide; Brother’s Kyle Placide and Noah Poku; Aunties, Mahalia Harry of Canada and Starcia Benoit; Grandparents, many Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and several friends, both here and abroad; and her NICU family at Cobb WellStar hospital.
Visitation is Friday, September 4, 2015 from 4:00-5:00pm, and funeral service is Friday, September 4, 2015, 5:00pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, Austell.
