Hoyt W. Savage's Obituary
Hoyt Winton Savage age 95 of Powder Springs passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014. Hoyt was in the CCC's (Civilian Conservation Corp) from 1936-1939, was in the Army serving in WWII from 1942-1945. He was a Military Police Stateside and a medic overseas. His service was in the Philippines with the second wave landing with MacArthur. He retired in 1983 with approximately 30 years of service at Lockheed Martin. Hoyt was a member of Highest Praise Church of God. His hobbies were camping, mining for gems "Rock Hound", traveling, very family oriented and visited his family all around the U.S.. He was a handyman that could do almost anything. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth June Savage, son, William Robert "Billy" Savage and grandson, Kelly Hoyt Landers. Survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Terry Landers of Powder Springs; grandson, Paul & Jennifer Landers of Flowery Branch; great grandson, Drew Landers; great granddaughter, Emma Kate Landers; daughter-in-law, Sybil Curry Savage of Gainesville; sister, Hautence Bonds of Sieverville, TN; many nieces, nephews, and friends including his church family. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM, Highest Praise Church of God, instate from 1-2. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory, Austell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highest Praise Church of God, 3771 Floyd Road, Austell, GA 30106
