Honorine Jane Conyers' Obituary
Honorine Jane Hook Conyers, 93, of Austell, Ga., died Sunday, August 17, 2025.
She was born in Tampa, Fla., and graduated from Plant High School in Tampa and Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga. In 1954, she married the boy next door, Joseph Watts Conyers Jr. They were married for 71 years until his death in June 2025.
They had three children: a son, David, and two daughters, Margaret and June. Jane was a pianist and a preschool teacher and worked at Cobb County General Hospital as a social worker, director of marketing and coordinator of volunteers. She was a volunteer and a president of the auxiliary at Presbyterian Village in Austell and was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in Presbyterian Women.
She is survived by her son, David Conyers (Rhonda Holifield); daughters Margaret Zerkus (Chris) and June Brandsma (Mike); grandchildren Matthew, Mitchell, Jacob, Elizabeth, Joe, Janie and Georgia; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned at Saturday, September 6, 1:00 PM at Central Presbyterian Church, 201 Washington St. SW, Atlanta. There will be a reception following the service.
The memorial will be led by the Reverends Shannon Kershner, Kate Culver and Cynthia Montgomery.
