Helen Louise Holland's Obituary
Helen Louise Holland, age 88, of Mableton passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family until the very end.
Helen was born to Burley Palmer and Lillie Mae Ward Palmer in Gainesville, GA. The family moved to the Center Hill neighborhood of Atlanta when Helen was 13. The love of her life, although he was not such at the time, lived directly across the street from her. Helen married Marvin Holland in 1955, and they raised two precious children in Mableton.
Helen and Marvin have been members of Floyd Road Baptist Church since 2020.
Helen loved to enshrine memories in scrapbooks and picture albums. She had a knack for detail and style, which manifested in her crafts, decorating, and her love for jewelry. Her love of beautiful things shone with her decorations at Christmas; that time of the year brought her much joy. While she is no longer physically with us, her family will deeply treasure all the precious memories made throughout the years.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Palmer, Sr.; and son-in-law, Randy Eller, Sr.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Marvin Holland; children, Jimmy Holland and wife, Kathy of Dacula, and Pam Eller of Winston; grandchildren, Tiba Kirby and husband, Clint, and Randy Eller, Jr. and wife, Lesa; great-grandchildren, Alayna Kirby, Hayley Eller, and Lucy Eller; along with many beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, June 13, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Helen’s life will follow at 1:00 PM in Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Keith Collins officiating.
Interment will take place at Mozley Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations in Helen’s name be made to Floyd Road Baptist Church, https://www.floydroadbaptist.com/
